Fire power

We’ve just been to get a closer look at the fires this evening. The orange glow from the flames is clearly visible from most of Pasadena, and only four miles up the road you get really quite close to the inferno:

Wildfires

Yesterday a second wildfire started about five miles west of here. As of this morning it was burning over about 500 acres, while the first one I just posted about has reached 2000 acres. Scary stuff. View of the new fire from the freeway this morning:

Back in Pasadena: drivers’ licence and brush fire

An uneventful and entirely pleasant flight back to Los Angeles, with three worthwhile films: ‘In the Loop’ (hilarious), ‘International’ (a bit too convenient in places) and ‘Fired Up’ (great fun).
My driving licence has arrived, somewhat sooner than they had said it would. Now I can really get into trouble for any driving misdemeanours!
