Blue skies

Another flawlessly sunny day, with not a single cloud in sight. How lucky we are. I wonder how long this can last – how long until skiing holidays are a thing of the past? Until it’s outlawed on environmental concerns, or just simply too expensive?

Dave’s run

A good day’s skiing today, with impeccable cloudless weather and fantastic snow conditions.

A short mid-morning stop for hot chocolate, very sweet and very creamy, augmented by a slug of ‘chisky’: cherry brandy and whisky. Lubrication for the knees!

Adverse weather conditions, but an excellent afternoon’s skiing nonetheless. Morning in Mammoth

First morning in Mammoth. Only four hour’s sleep… The weather is SNOWY still! (08:10):

Jen and Dave cooked up a nice breakfast. It made an enormous difference to have shopped beforehand, so that everything was in stock – no need to go out to get anything. Cooking facilities perfectly adequate.

Journey to Mammoth Lakes

Jen and Dave arrived today! The first of the British contingent; many more to follow.
